Microsoft EU Complaint Accuses Google, Motorola of Patent Abuse
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2400544,00.asp

The Articles are about Microsoft filing a formal complaint with the European Union's competition regulator against Motorola Mobility and Google, saying Motorola's aggressive enforcement of patent rights against rivals breaks competition rules.
Relevant to class because patent issues impact the price of consumer goods and can affect the software and ahrdware used in devices, creating issues with compatibility.
#1 is difficult to follow, full of jargon. Had to read #2 to understand #1
#2 was long enough to be informative, and short enough to keep my interest.
#2 had a tech side bar close to the end of the article, easy for user to continue reading within the category once done.
#1 had very few related links around.
All three articles were of a good length
#3 was very direct and to the point about it all to begin
#3 was also very quote heavy, and relied on the words of another source very much.
#3 explained many of the industry rules and standards to the reader so as to help one understand what the issue really was
#3 went into the apparent struggle between Microsoft and Motorola that has been going on for years, in case anyone was interested
Omit that extra tidbit and #3 was the shortest, a mish mash of someone else's words, but easy for someone who knows nothing about this all

Summary: Through establishing standards and developing the web technically, the thought of the user's personal experience to the website has been lost, and it is important to consider this human aspect while moving forward to develop more effective websites.
Relevance to the Class: The purpose of this class, if I remember correctly, is to understand how organizing material for the internet impacts the effectiveness of a website as well as the experience of the user. This article discusses how to include all users.
Key Quote: "An interface that is truly inclusive of all kinds of users is one that begins with only the fundamentals and then evolves and adapts"
