Amazon Studios is making it possible for people to submit pilot ideas for series' that will, if popular, be developed and produced for distribution via amazon's Netflix / Hulu like servies.

Summary: Google drive is being developed to allow for sharing of mostly anything with anyone using any devices you'd like.
Relevance to the Class: The use of the internet is creeping towards an all inclusiveness where you can have all of your devices share all of your files, apps and music.

Summary: Nearly 60% of people in 24 countries used the web to check up on finances, 48% percent for shopping, and 41% went online in search of a job. The countries at the top of the list were very "western."

Evernote, a note taking program that allows you to take and save audio notes, has added a speech to text feature that allows for your notes to not only be recorded, but transcribed to a text file that is then attached to the note. Evernote Google’s text transcription for Android.
#1 gives you a brief history of the program and explains what the difference is with the update
All three were relatively short.
#2 assumes that the reader has decent knowledge about the app and the key words associated with it. It does little to explain the update to someone who may not be familiar with moile use of apps and speech to text.
#3 speaks about the app and then wonders about the impact it will have on business transcription services.
#3 Has links within the body copy to pages that give you more detailed explanations of the speech to text process and the unveiling of the update itself, keeping the article is self relatively simple, so as not to confuse readers who are not especially up on the jargon.

#4 included large screenshots of the widget in use
#4 links you to the app blog at the end of the article, where as #3 links to the blog in the body copy.
Thist topic is relevant to the class beacuse it's important to keep tabs on the shift from reliance upon desktop and laptop computers, to mobile devices. This push to improve speech to text will inevitable impact much more than wordprocessing. Understanding what hardware users are utilizing effects the way we design for them.

Sony is releasing a new honey comb styled tablet which is thought to be competition for the PS Vita. This device seems to be catered to the more serious gaming community who would be interested in owning a tablet that allows for more involved gameplay.
#1 is picture heavy, more about showing off the features and aesthetic of the device.
All three were relatively short.
#2 is more like a product listing, giving you the megapixels of the camera, Android version and memory storage, while #1 focuses on the number of apps available and gameplay.
#3 is a Comparison of 3 different profucts and the impact they will have on the industry.
#2 and #3 are very much about specs, #1 is about the author's reaction.
#1 has an article story progression at the bottom, very helpful.

Summary: Although the top 5% of unlimited data users don't use that much data at all, they are still seeing their speeds slow to a crawl.
Relevance to the Class: In our last class discussion, we spoke about the slowing of speeds as well as the impossibility of supporting a truly unlimited amount of unlimited users.
Key Quote: "AT&T says it must cut the unlimited data plans to maintain the integrity of its network. But are those top data users really eating up that much bandwidth? A new study says 'no.'"
